The Taming of The Shrew

Do you know is there any way to turn a shrewd women into a suave woman? However, I had a good idea after I watched our school’s drama ----“the Taming of the Shrew”. In fact, I didn’t know any information about “The Taming of the Shrew”. I just knew this is an interesting event from my English teacher. So I bought a ticket to watch it.
On the evening of December 19th, I arrived at the GCA assembly hall at about 6:00a.m. The drama started at about 6:30p.m. I went to watch this performance because I hear some information from my English teacher. She told me about some interesting plots that made me want to watch it. I went to watch this drama with my friend----Kassie.
This drama shows us the main character Katharina who is an intelligent. She wanted to get a husband. The other main character is called Petruchio who wants change Katharina and become her husband. This is a funny story. I could see all impersonators did their best to add funny scenes. They wanted to make our audience involve in the play. I should say that they really did a good job because I just knew there is Petruchio’s dream at end of the drama.
I like watching different kinds of things. Such as drama, movie…… I think this GCA drama was successful. I like it because there were too many impressive scenes in the drama-----The Taming of the Shrew. It gave an indelible performance to me. I think I will never forget it.

Go to Church

I could remember when I was 6 years old. I lived in my piano teacher’s house. My teacher is a Christian. Bit by bit, I started believing it with her. So from that time, I also become a Christian. I want to go to church and I hope it will give me different feelings about Christian.
At first, I decided to the church with my mother but my mother had to take parents’ meeting so I just went there alone on April 25th. I chose the church that stands on the MoChou Road, I chose it because it is near our school, which could make my mother find me easily.
I arrived at the church at 9:00a.m. There were a lot of people coming from of the church and the first performance was over. So I had to watch the second performance. This was my first time to the Nanjing church so I asked a woman for help. She told me today there would be a pastor from USA. I felt a little excited. I went into the church and took a brochure. When I went into the church, I saw the church full of people. I found a seat and sat down line. I read that brochure carefully and I knew the programs. We would sing different songs and listen to the chaplain’s words. They sang softly. I like the song called “We All Our God”, the song was light, and it was easy to understand. I found it was very interesting, even thought I could not understand all meanings. I kept listening and watching carefully. Next part was reading Scripture; the main idea was that we should thank the God for giving us life. We began to thank the God for about 30 seconds. Next was singing songs, but we could not sing any song, so we just listened to others singing the song. We finished it at about 11:00a.m. Finally I left this interesting and peaceful place.
When I saw my mother waiting for me, I smiled to her. I didn’t feel tired because I thought this cult was quite good and I also learned a lot. It changed my mind; I know that religion. makes us to learn how thank others and how to thank the whole world.

My best pieces of work

My favorite social study is this: poster. This post is writing about Canadian confederation. This is a group project. I tried my best to do it with my partner.

This is a picture about Science project. Teacher tells us to draw and explain the “plate movement”. Teacher said my picture is the best one and he also showed it at the parents’ meeting. So I think it is the beast project about my science.

This photo is the best group project about PE. We took it in the PE class and we took it in the “Nanjing teacher university”. Our group’s members are Helen, Denise, selina, Rita, Jennifer and me. We are playing the PE activity.

This is my the best planning group project about “Happy Trash”. Our teacher gave us some trashes to make a beautiful thing. Our group makes a “gun” that can help people to realize their dream. If you wanted to realize your dream, you just shoot at your head then you would make your dream come true. I think it is a very cool idea.

My best English work is a workbook about “Chinese Cinderella”. “Chinese Cinderella” is a book chosen by our. Our Teacher didn’t check this work book but I also kept reading it every day and answered the questions in this book. I spent a lot of time on it so I think it is the best one.

This is my Math exam; I chose it because I get the best mark in our class at that time. Our classmates all didn’t get the good marks. Teacher said I could get the best marks because I worked hard. It makes feel a litter proud.

My favorite ART is our fashion show design book. I think it is the best one because clothes in this book that are all designed and drawn by me. I like drawing some beautiful clothes. It also my best proup project.

My best project Mandarin 10 is a composition. This is our week essay in the Chinese. I think it is the best one because my teacher gave me the best evaluation I our class and he also used this essay to teacher our class. I felt happy at that time.

Volunteer/work Experience (B)

On April 28th, I went back to my hometown Mananshan for my volunteer work. I find that restaurant with the help of my father. The restaurant is called “Ming Yue Chinese restaurant”.
I arrived there at about 8:30. The restaurant began at 9 am. So when I came in, the master did not turn on the lights. All attendants were sitting around the table talking with each other. I introduced myself first and began getting ready for the work. Firstly, the master gave us a conclusion about yesterday’s work, and then gave us today’s work. For I was a new one, the master gave me a waitress to help me. She looked like my new teacher. The first thing was to clean the whole restaurant before it was opened and I was going to clean the mirror. There were many mirrors in that restaurant. I felt a little frightened. After I used the cloth to wipe the mirrors ,they were not clean. So my teacher told me that I had to use the newspaper to wipe them again. I had a try, it worked! After I cleaned all those mirrors, the restaurant opened. We waited until the first customers came in. At that time my task was to pass the menu from the customers to the Chef. The restaurant had 2 floors ,so my work was not easy. I had to run from the first floor to the second floor, and then ran back for many times. That was not over. At noon, there were lots of people eating here, but the attendants were not enough. When I gave the menus to the chief upstairs, I had to provide water for customers. When the customers needed towels, I had to pass them towels. When the customers left, I had to clean up the dishes on the table, changed wallpaper, and then waited for the next customers. Before the people said ‘customers are the gods’, I could not understand, but in this real restaurant I could understand these words strongly.
From 2p.m to 4p.m, we didn’t have a lot of customers. I also felt a little tired , so I relaxed myself during this time. At about 4:30, we started preparing for the night. At night , I also did the same things. However, the different was that I became more familiar with my work. I knew how to do these things correctly and I did my work faster. At about 9 pm, I finished my work. I was tired and hot, I took off my clothes. The master was pleased with me. She gave me the high evaluation.
This “restaurant work” is very useful and interesting. I have never done this kind of work before. It makes me feel tired, but I am still happy, because I learn some new things. I also find some happiness during the working time. Secondly, I knew that organizing a big restaurant is difficult and I understood the reason why my mother said “if you become a waiter, you will be very tired.” Lastly, this volunteer work makes me know earning money is difficult and toilsome. I know that I must study hard because my parents use their “sweat” to give me a good life. I didn’t want to make them upset.
I also did the other volunteer work that helped policeman to solve some traffic problems. I could attend this activity with the help of my parents’ friends. I did it on Oct 8th. At that time, we had holiday so I went back to Mananshan, and then I knew that special volunteer work. On Oct 8th, I arrived at the police office at 9 o’clock in the morning. The young policeman told me to stand on the yellow line and told people not to walk across the street during the red light. I worked from 9 o’clock to 11 o’clock. I can remember clearly about one thing. At first, I told a man to paint but he didn’t listen to me at all. He just rode his bicycle across the street. However, after that, his bicycle hit a blue car. When I saw that man lying on the road, I felt a little upset because I didn’t stop him successfully, After the person was sent to hospital, I felt a little better. I started worrying about the traffic accident and I also told my father to drive his car carefully.
These experiences are important to me .The volunteer work in the restaurant makes me realize the hard work of the laborers. The volunteer work as a policeman makes me feel a little surprised because I had thought policeman’s work was not hard. However, after I did those, I begin to understand them. Two different jobs give me different experiences. I know those will influence me forever.
